Is the weekend over already because I still feel like partying. Thing I learned from this weekend: I can keep
drinking beers and shots of tequila all day/night and NOT be hung-over the next morning AND keep drinking all night and not ever get sick. Sweet! I’ll file that for later…
Saturday was Lorenzo’s Bday Bash in Akron. I LOVE partying at Posh! This was a rare event in which I really didn’t have a drink in my hand; I did shots all night long (and the tab was only $40). There’s STILL not a place like this in Cleveland with great blend of music (NOT just same-ol’ Top 40 hip-hop crap) and people (there’s ALWAYS a line and the club is ALWAYS packed). It was not necessary to go anywhere else.
Sunday: Browns day at work. Inventory: lotsa beer, throw in a hot tub, some Browns beads, one ripped work shirt (all the way down the front; thanks, Fredo), more-than-a-few 1800 shots, a fax number from Clay (what a cutie!), private party at Cloud 9 Lounge (is this place only open to non-public now?), way too much sarcasm and sassiness, er… sauciness? The night ended perfectly with the Better Than Ezra show at the House of Blues with HSS. BTE is STILL one of my favorite performers. The House of Blues Cleveland reminds me too much of being in Myrtle Beach. I wonder if they will start their own “Industry Night” (one of the biggest party nights at the beach). Thanksgiving, I’ll catch the DJ Dan and Christopher Lawrence show. Let that sound system rip!
Again though, BTE didn’t play a few of my favorite songs. “This Time of Year” was usually how they ended their shows, and hearing it with HSS was always emotional (one of our “songs” from back when). Maybe next time, after I convincingly get him to move out west. Hearing “Porcelain” live still gives me chills. Funny moment about the show: I need more cowbell! Hilarious that the birthday chick got on-stage, then fell.
Ah, today it’s back to work. My going away party is less than 2 weeks away and now the moving countdown is less than a month. Big night out this week: Night of the Long Cocks #7 at Liquid.
