Would you like to do my grocery shopping?

Gimme an “M” for Thursdays! My night started out innocently (and early) enough for Ladies’ Night at McGinty’s in Lakewood. You can’t beat a 3/$5 deal, especially when it comes to liquor-pours and not just beer. I’ve done the McGinty’s rounds before and still haven’t really warmed up too much to the place. Its awkward set-up doesn’t allow for a full bar stroll and inconveniences meet-ups with both frequent door openings in the middle of winter and tiny standing room only… and don’t even try to hang out in the “pool room.” En route to McCarthy’s, realized we needed a food fill-up at Taco Bell — only to realize I was almost completely out of gas while in the drive-thru. Remembering the two gas stations on the Rocky River end of town, I attempt to fill up, only finding out they’re closed. Anxiety ridden, I attempt another fill-up at an open station on Hilliard while the gas meter slowly creeps to a vowel. The beauty of a digital dashboard read-out: allowing the luxury of my mileage ’til “E.” And if Burritos weren’t enough at Toxic Hell, let us go to Malloy’s for a basket of wings! Strange how bar food hunger just crawls up on you. Final “M” was for Mel’s. Don’t worry; didn’t miss much there. Whole lotta empty fridge continues…

Friday: Unfortunately, the weather did not cooperate enough for anyone to partake in the Tremont Art Walk; however, we made our night out trek to their swanky bars: Southside, Treehouse, and Lava Lounge. All three a great experience bringing something new into our ladies’ night resolutions. Did I hear Terrance Trent D’arby being spun by the DJ? Just me then… Finished up downtown for a late nightcap at Liquid (slow) and Panini’s Pizza (still gross as ever). Only memory worth mentioning was an attempt for some Skeeze Ball to salsa dance with me in the food/bar. Need my magic shoes! Click three times to go home?
Saturday, I tried to win an Otis Spunkmeyer goodie basket at a Half-Day drinking event @ Harpo’s – I won a Corona hat instead. Since the ladies had such an awesome night Friday night, we decided to do-it-up-now in Tremont again. I impressed myself in remembering exactly how to get there. The “yes/no” Firing Squad (see: Sex in the City) made the Treehouse more enjoyable than playing the “don’t-I-know-you” game elsewhere. (Yes, what? Maybe 22 out of 100) I attempted to reach my “cop-date” that night to no avail; Cingular had other plans for my text messages (like sending at 7am the next morning).

I don’t know if it were exhaustion kicking my ass or those mini tacos I ate at Southside, but I had a horrible shift in mood by the end of the night. I know what will cheer you up: omelets @ My Friends! (it worked). Sat in a booth BS’ing with some random dudes I didn’t want to give my number to. They were firmly convinced I was at Dive Bar downtown. (sorry, I wasn’t). I may/not have waved “bye” to everyone in the restaurant on the way out.

Sunday, Sunday, Sunday: I finally went to the Gospel Brunch @ HOB (I had a nice parter-in-crime). Oh, I got into it — and apparently Jesus still loves me. Great choice attending this particular Sunday with there being a special MLK tribute. I could’ve been more-than-impressed with the breakfast selection, but that’s coming from a Seafood Allergy Girl. Crawfish-stuffed omelets? *shiver* The best that they passed out chocolate-chip cookies at the door on the way out… mmm, still warm! Hob_gospel_brunch_004 Finished off the weekend with $1 drafts at Merry Arts for a Steelers’ victory! Gosh that burger looked good, but too stuffed by those Belgian Waffles…

And since this site wouldn’t be complete without a “secret” post (I know how much you love that): I have a visitor in two weeks! Yeah!

Forgot to post this inspiration yesterday:
