This train hasn’t stopped, baby! Choo-Choo!
Friday night I picked up my girl Deanna from Chicago at the airport, and we headed down for Happy Hour drinks at Liquid. I was pleasantly surprised by the crowd. We took off a little early to visit her parents’ yacht club for their annual Regatta party. After enough family and potluck dishes with cat hair, we went BACK to Liquid and ended at Velvet Dog.
Saturday was the BBQ in Maple Heights with some new friends. The night ended at Shooters with my friend Maria. I ran into Jeff The Engineer there. He threw off my night a bit. I don’t think it’s right saying you’ll meet someone Sunday, and then show up Saturday. Then I have this awkward “I-really-don’t-want-to-hang-out-with-you” attitude. Girls’ night out, baby!
Last night was the first time in MONTHS I had random phone calls at 4am. Miss that shit! I’m always looking for something to do after the bars. Last night, since I was driving, I wasn’t out in that particular direction. I found out from some friends that a guy asked about me. They hadn’t heard that I was dumped. When I mentioned that I ran into him this past week, and thought he was very sweet and cute, they made mention that “he’d be happy to hear that.” I also met this absolutely sweetest country boy named B.J. He was completely flattered that I came up to him and told him that he was a cutie. (I’m a woman of so many words in the bars) He said he had been checking me out all night long and continued to compliment me. I told him to not play the “waiting game” with me. I also had an argument with some guy about girls wanting nice guys or bad boys. He didn’t believe when I said that girls DO want a nice guy; the ones that say differently are too naive to know any better.
Tonight will be drinks on the deck once again. Then the “Mel-Got-Dumped” Extravaganza is over. I will officially go on hiatus… for a little while.
