I took the weekend off from Cleveland this weekend and spent a girls’ night out in Columbus. It was 60 degrees overnight down there and the bars were packed. Columbus is currently going through a revitalization. Their new convention center is a pretty sweet building. The Arena district is a great place to walk from bar-to-bar. Frog Bear & Wild Boar is a great warm-weather bar with its outdoor patio; Gordon Biersch is right around the corner (one of C-bus’ breweries). Too bad part of the downtown pretty much closes down on Sundays. WTF? No Starbucks on Sundays? If you head down to our lovely state capitol, you have to have breakfast at First Watch.
Oh, almost forgot… went to b-sides on Friday night. I’m so glad a club opened up like that here on the east side. I’m hoping it stays packed on the weekends and not only because of their write-up in Friday Mag. I’ll have to make it my new mid-week hang-out when I don’t feel like driving downtown. The music was awesome all night!
