I’m sure all females know what I’m speaking of when mentioning the “walk of shame.” It’s never pretty, never fun, and dammit, I always forget my sunglasses. I crashed downtown last night without a change of clothes. It’s never fun running across rush-hour traffic on Lakeside to my car in the heels and make-up from the night before. I just wave to all the business men, “Hey there! How ya doing? Do you know where da club is?” They just look a little strangely.
The best walk o’ shame I believe I’ve had was a few weeks back when we got hit with—yet another—snow storm. I sat up at a friend’s apartment watching “Office Space” until about 5am (knowing full-well I had to work at 5:30). Needless to say my car was 3 blocks away, and I believe I left my coat in it as well. I had to run down the icy sidewalks to my car, then scrape the windows, in the heels from the night before. The Plain Dealer delivery guy was double-parking me in. Since I had my work clothes in my car, I went to work and changed in the bathroom. I succeeded in working a full day on no sleep. I consider this a weekly experience in my personal definition of time management. There is just no extra time to waste on sleep!
Side note: Do you know how hard it is to change your pants while driving?
