So, while you await for Sean and Christian to make TV love to you in the season premiere of nip/tuck tonight, I’ll update a bit on some new stuff. A couple weeks ago, I threw my sister a bachelorette party. Wait. Why does it seem I’ve already wrote about this? Anyways, so last weekend was the wedding. The boyfriend was introduced to the family — I know, big stuff, right? Needless to say, he fit in wonderfully and made himself more available for family photo opps than I did. Note to anyone staying at the Hyatt at The Arcade downtown: don’t play into the “door hangar” breakfast menu after spending majority of your evening throwing back gin-and-tonics with your dad and uncle! I checked off a couple items on the tag and ended up with a short-stack of pancakes, sweet roll french toast, potatoes, bacon and the most GOD AWFUL carafe of burnt coffee that has ever touched my tastebuds. Total: $53. Yes. I would have been better off with brunch at the Ritz. And somebody tell me when “one-cup” coffee makers became so popular?
So, also last week, I had a couple “first time” nightlife experiences. Thursday, while starting off with dinner at the Rocky River Brewing Company (with beer-battered french fries) was no virginal event, the performance of Glenn Schwartz at Hooples Riverbed Cafe was (why I always thought there was a “Major” in the name, I don’t know). For anyone in Cleveland that has not been to Scene’s Best of “Best Skyline View of Cleveland” let me recommend a Thursday night. You will forever be thankful.
Next was Halloween. I will provide my Halloween photo for your pleasure — I know, it’s been quite some time since I’ve offered my yumminess onto you.* Started off at the new Reddstone over in Battery Park. LOVE, love, love this bar a thousand times over. Check out the great nightly specials — and I hear once spring pops around these parts again, their patio is fabulous. No night of attending to my public would be complete without a visit to all my girls (and their chaps… RAWR!) at the Garage Bar. All-in-all a great night of fun once again in Cleveland. Although nothing really can top Halloween in Vegas last year… nothing.
While I still have your attention — and the very fact that I loathe the Cavaliers and all things basketball (I don’t know, maybe it’s the weather) — let me introduce you to some of my favorites from the Lake Erie Monsters’ roster:
1. David Jones
2. Johnny (spelled correctly, thankfully) Boychuk

3. Dan DaSilva

Thank me later. And for another laugh: Somebody googled: Who is better a penis or a boyfriend?
Seriously though, when I figure out the difference in my scientific experiment, I will post the results.

*Side thought after the thought: My mom DID make my costume again this year. Isn’t she awesome?
*Another side thought afterward: I stayed at the Glidden House the night before my sister’s wedding. The rooms are BEAUTIFUL, the food was awesome for both the rehearsal dinner AND breakfast the next morning, the front sunroom/patio was so nice and relaxing on a fall night and there’s a cute little bar towards the back of the lobby, where we made some new local friends. Parking is a bitch though, valet is complimentary for guests. They have this really cool package for like, $150 that includes a couple sets of passes to the museums in/around University Circle.
