The only thing missing was the strip club…

It was Guys Night Out Saturday in Cleveland. I get invited because I think, act and drink like a guy. Ten-fold, I reign supreme because when I hit on chicks, I get to touch their breasts… if I ask politely.

My boy Doopie and I started at the Grog Shop to see opening band Paper Rival from Nashville. Completely worth the $12 cover and $3 domestics. (Ack). If you are a fan of indie rock, pay attention. Their new full-length will be released in June. I truly hope they recorded their final number "Bluebird." Amazing. I love a band that can invoke emotion just out of eight songs and thirty minutes. The lead singer's voice reminds me of another artist from the mid-90s alt-rock days, but I can't place it.

The second band was just… strange . Their sound was reminiscent of a 90210 summer vacation soundtrack. Of course, we created our own speaking-portion of the story as the beach music unfolded. I'm assuming by the headliner name Aloha, we would be under submission of laughter and boredom by the time they got on stage. I'm sure they're fantastic musicians (especially from viewing the turnout Saturday night), but just not my thing. It was really a weird combination on the billing.

Then the night turned into your typical downtown drunk fest. You know: Blind Pig, Fusion and Dive Bar. I cheated on my "no smoking" rule when I came across a random patron smoking my brand on the way down the stairs to Dive. Eh, three months was a good run… I don't crave or desire them or anything right now, so it's all good. A successful evening was wrapped up in Panini's goodness. Or as I like to call, Fat-on-Bread-with-a-super-side-of-Mayo. ("Mayo? How'd you get mayo?") Super ham-and-cheese and all that sloppy slaw and fries. Oh gosh, I can still feel the stomach rumblings from it two days later. I pretty much starved myself to balance my caloric intake during Hangover Sunday. Until my boyfriend brought over a huge slab of co-jack cheese and pretzel chips… and all my Easter candy.

Balls!
