That’s a big cock!

There was a big cock in the hallway near the bathrooms at Three Birds — the eclectic eatery tucked among the dive bars in Melbigcock Lakewood. Okay, so the “big cock” was a giant ceramic multi-colored rooster and one of the busboys gave me “that look” when I made the comment in exclamation. What? Like you’ve heard it before? The trip to Three Birds was a welcome change in the frequent visitations to Detroit bars that sound like: AroundtheCorner/Kenilworth/WestEnd… it was nowhere near less jubial.

I was teetering quite shy of the “one-more-drink-and-I-might-have-done-something-stupid-like-puke” stage of drunk. It was a new night of working it (and yes, networking skills were in firmly in place) among the snootiest-of-Cleveland. Seriously, one table got a complete NYC-esque attitidue when a friend of ours placed a drink on their table in the bar for a moment — “Excuse me! Somebody is sitting there…” And no one had been sitting there the entire 3-hour (non-smoking!!) event. What is WITH that? Come ON, freakin stuck-up trendsters sitting in an over-priced restaurant in LAKEWOOD. Look I’m sure the food is good (which I won’t eat because there are waaayyy too many overlaps in fish products in places there shouldn’t be), and the martinis are dry… but it’s Cleveland, mmmkay? If you want to have that attitude, GO… quickly, preferred… to your nearest Proctologist and get that fucking stick pulled out your ass. Feh. Okay, I’m done. Three Birds is the perfect location to impress a first date, spend $100, and use your Foodie-obsessed personality to decipher ingredients on the menu… or stand in the bar, get drunk, (not smoke) and poke fun at the first-time couples attempting to engage in any sort of remarkable conversation.

Another heartbreaking loss to Team Booze Saturday. We were a girl short (again) — I had one catch — and I was just plain exhausted. No Treehouse today. Took in a few beers at Johnny Malloy’s in Lakewood to catch the end of the Buckeyes game… then home to bed.

Sunday, had my mom’s surprise birthday dinner. Listened to the remainder of the (disappointing) Browns game on the drive home… then it was another night spent with Desperate Housewives season premiere and my NewsNet5 WeatherHottie.
