I should start a tour of Taco Tuesdays in the Cleveland area seeing as every week another mexi-themed cheap eats night is added to the usual suspects. This past week in particular was Slim & Chubby’s (again). $1.75 huge-ass hard shelled tacos, non-greasy, with your typical beef, cheese, salsa (hot for me!) — sour cream is extra. And you just HAVE to eat two… even though they are massive. There’s also some sort of Michelob special that I never take-’em-up-on since I have no fanfare for the Mich… eh. Two domestic beers and two tacos will spare you no more than $10 (without tip). Slim & Chubby’s in Cleveland/Puritas/Whereever-the-fuck-corp-limit is nestled in the Marc’s shopping plaza on West 150th. S&C is your typical dive bar enhanced with AqousTVs at every booth for a choose-yer-own televised sporting adventure (just wish the one in the first booth WORKED!). Service is quick (taco service even quicker). Crowd on Tuesdays tends to be light with regulars (or potentially be jam-packed with drunken college douchebags). Bar stools have backs, but are open near the bottom so watch those thongs stickin’ out from your low-rises, but dammit, they’re comfy. Complaint? Jukebox — Freedom Rock! Turn it up, man!
