I had almost forgotten to remark on my memorable Sweetest Day with my best girlfriends. Unfortunately (I suppose, for the men) we were single with each other for the evening. My wonderful friend KT surprised us all with a box of chocolates from Sweet Designs in Lakewood. Seriously, the best f-in chocolate I can ever imagine! The champagne truffle was the stuff dreams and PMS were made for! Long-live local chocolatiers! The box of Malley’s once-a-year choco-covered strawberries couldn’t even hold a torch, let alone a lighter in the audience, to her chocolates!
Our four-some enjoyed an awesome Italian dinner at Alfonso’s at Kamm’s Corner, followed by a jaunt out west to visit a friend at Mitchell’s Tavern in Westlake. A Saturday night would not be complete without a trip down Detroit (pre 5-mile walk adventure). Superband livened up McCarthy’s for the night. (And yes, they really do wear their superhero costumes on stage) The costumes are not just a clever gimmick – they’re one of the better cover bands I’ve heard in the area.
