School days, school days, breakin’ all the rules days… that’s how it goes, right?

While my head wants to remain firmly planted up my ass and tries to dispel the vision of  (still, un-purchased) textbooks, reality has once again caught up. School is back-in-session today and my fall schedule is certainly not for the happy hour regular! I surely antagonize with the white-winged creature to my left shoulder, where with “summer break” is truly not at an end until my return from Europe next week. Let’s hope this is not yet another vacation adventure spent writing 10-page essays about the effect public and media relations has on the presidential administration… or something like that.

On to the weekend wrap-up! After a late, LATE night from Thursday’s antics, I curled up after work Friday with my leftovers, “Citizen Kane” and the remainder of that certain bottle of wine. After enjoying the travel section of Half-priced Books mid-Saturday afternoon, I hit up every bin in the travel-sized toiletries section of Target, then I began some packing (and the packing lists). All the travel anxiety prompted some beers courtesy of Flannery’s and Boneyard (where I religiously switched from brew to gin). An early morning alarm sent me back over to the east side for lunch (date… what is this like, six now?? *still smiling* See, can you see it now?) at Legacy Village and Motown group Twist in the outdoor concert pavilion. Ah, then the heat baked us (uh, I planned for 70s today, Mr. Goddard!), and La Gelateria (mmmmm, cappuccino gelato!) took care of that.

And now, back to  your regularly-scheduled train wreck at 4. Work for 8 hours and classes for 6 hours. Finishing a degree at age 30 more than sucks a bit.
