Friday the ladies were once again trolling through downtown for another birthday approach to 30. Majority of our time was spent at Liquid/Ultra, with a few highlights of ducking behind half-walls and running into the wrong bars. The Hyatt downtown was most certainly the crown jewel of the celebration — even if only memories were jarred by the digital camera in the early morning.
Saturday was another drive over to the east side (again, bah) for my friend’s baby shower. The hangover was cured by loading up on all that delicious homemade Indian food. I enjoy trying new dishes, but have decided after the fourth or fifth time of taste-testing, I just do not like the “yogurt balls.”
I got a man… What your man gotta do with me? I got a man…. Oh wait, where was I? Saturday night, I suggested the ahem, “boyfriend” and I get out and act silly at Dave & Buster’s for his birthday. It is to be assumed he missed me while on vacation as I was presented with a BEAUTIFUL bouquet of flowers — which included sunflowers, mind you (ahem, again paying attention). The run through the torrential downpour on the west side was hilarious. Yeah, rain is funny, especially when you’re sharing an umbrella and decide to stomp into a puddle that is three feet deep. Regardless, the damp weather certainly did not put a damper on my game skills. Yes, still air hockey champion. I probably could have played a better game of Skee-ball, but I gave away my trick shot… and he kept hitting the 100. Certainly not swayed or defeated, we ended up matching on high score.
I found a little bit of my “sweet” side and purchased earlier a good bottle of Chardonnay and a chocolate-peanut-butter mini-cake for a surprise taste bud enjoyment upon our return home. We sat up and worked our way through the “If…” book, all while he laughed and questioned the randomness of my iTunes Party Shuffle. If you haven’t noticed yet, we are well on our way of a streak of great dates. And it’s high time I find him a nickname for the site.
So, back to the sleeplessness of this 30-year-old time consumer, all together say “awwwwww” to the fact I could not participate in tailgating adventures for the Browns’ home opener. It was my baby sister’s wedding shower. I cannot believe it’s just over a month that she will be marrying the man of her dreams!
Not to be forgotten, I have a confirmed wedding date.
