NEW bar, NEW men!

I found a new bar that houses about an 80% ratio of men — which is a fine, fine day for a single gal like myself: West Park Station in West Park at Kamm’s Corner (couldn’t find a web link). Friday night there was a band, and within 30 seconds of placing my drink on the table, there was a hand pulling me to the dance floor by an unidentified stranger. Afterward, I took part in “Free Comic Book Day” during the after store hours celebration at Carol & John’s Comic Shop (also in Kamm’s Corner). What a fun and unpredictable night out! I was completely surprised by the line of people and new friendships I created throughout the store that enjoyed a night of free comics, mojitos and dancing on line. I also had one of those very valley conversations that echoed of “No, YOU SHUT UP! MY birthday is next Wednesday TOO!” Strangely enough, same day, same year, but I’m an hour older. After a late, late night at the comic shop, I found it difficult to really get out of a deep sleep funk for majority of my Saturday. I had my friend’s baby shower (which I won a “All American” baseball-themed gift bag for placing second in the “cut-the-string-for-her-belly-size” game) and another friend’s bachelorette festivities (aka: “50 and friky”) starting again at West Park Station. There was a cover charge for the fight on Saturday and seeing that I never have cash on hand, some (hot) Irish Accent handed me a five to enter. I never saw him again to repay him in beer (I still owe you and I will find you). Continuing the “29-7″ not-single-for-long party, headed over to Bier Markt in Ohio City. A rather intimate night with all the candles at Bier Markt — apparently all the power was out in that location. Best part was when “the pregnant one” was the only one hit on at the table. He was several questions in the conversation before she finally pulled the I-don’t-get-out-often-since-I’m-eight-months-pregnant bit. It was a fantastic day with close friends that are celebrating major milestones in their lives — and I couldn’t be happier! The week of birthday celebrations begins… first stop: the grandparents’ today. THREE FREAKING DAYS TIL I’M 30! WOO!
