More to love this Valentine’s Day

Posted by Mel on February 12th, 2010. Filed under: Say hello to my Little Friends.

This is a Sponsored Post written by me on behalf of Split-Self. All opinions are 100% mine.

In the spirit of love during this lamest of holidays, why not discuss polyamory - “many loves.” I love vintage coats, bleu cheeses, rye stouts and IPAs and a good discussion on non-traditional relationship roles.

Ahem.

I’m an equal-opportunity dater, and I have enough love to share that I could see myself within the confines of a polyamorous affair. Which brings me to the Split-Self series about a girl and two boys.

Too many penises will get you in trouble, missy — but that’s not why we’re here today.

While I’m not one for novels (or series of novels), since the days of “Children in the Attic,” I can’t say that I would have picked up a Split-Self book of the shelf without being prompted. The topics of triads and otherwise non-traditional relationship categorizations are CERTAINLY always on my list when I hit the library, but I tend to sash-shay to the non-fiction aisles. I like it REAL, baby. None of this fantasy crap (see: the Twilight phenom).

BUT OK, I’ll bite. No vampire pun intended… oh, please do not let these characters be vampires!

That being said or unsaid, while in my porn/fantasy world, I enjoy a little double-man action (separated by a sexy, busty redhead, typically), but in my REAL world, I have no desire to share Penis #1 with Penis #2. Blonde, brunette, redhead… with the requisite female parts? Absolutely.

Perhaps as the series continues, Lady realizes she needs another lady.

Relationships are only defined by who is within it — you cannot prevent falling in love with one person, let alone two (not unlike having TWO children whom you love equally, so don’t try to fight me on this — even though I know my mom loves me less, there are others that fight to play fair). Caveat: everyone in said relationship model needs to be on the same page.

See what I did there? Page… get it? Moving on…

So, yeah, perfect Valentine’s Day gift EVER - threesome, duh. TOLD you why all the boys love me.

Tell me dearest readers, for my SECOND best Valentine’s Day ever, what are your feelings about polyamory? Would you read a series of novels based on this relationship? Would you rather just watch girl/guy/guy in all its naked awesomeness online? Sorry, no link for YOU.
