OK, I suppose I shouldn’t be shocked to see this Santa Claus ad coming from PETA, but — wow!

Heh… coming.
So, we got poor lil’ Santa not able to get it up because the kiddies put out cow’s milk. Um, I think it’s safe to say that Santa should probably remain “unarmed” while delivering his goods to strangers’ homes. Especially with the little kids hiding out in his or her bed.
I mean, unless you have some kind of creepy Santa fetish, then you’re leaving him milk and Viagra, right?
Be that as it may, I think it’s wholly irresponsible on behalf of PETA to suggest such a thing, being that there is NO PROOF OR EVIDENCE. Even worse, is that soy milk is NOT a great substitute for regular doses of dairy — say, as drinking a glass of milk a day. It’s horrible for blood pressure — even vegans know you cannot eat tofu on a daily basis. It’s been PROVEN to cause changes in the menstrual cycles of women after drinking on a continual basis. A chemical in soy products is known to mimic estrogen. Me thinks estrogen (ie: soy) would have the exact result PETA suggests as preventing.
I drink rice milk, as I never was able to really tolerate the heaviness of milk (even when drinking hormone-free organic skim, I watered it down). I like to drink HEALTHY milk and eat local dairy products (NO HORMONES), but drinking glasses of milk is not a regular part of my diet — typically just with a bowl of organic cereal. I receive my calcium intake by (duh) cheese, tubs of cottage cheese and yogurt.
Yes, PETA always gets our attention (I like the naked tiger ladies in cages downtown), but what do you think about this ad, outside of being very clever? Do you consider PETA a credible source?

soy is funky. im glad to hear you talk about its estrogen-mimicking qualities. its in everything nowadays. boys raised on soy formula grow breast-like bumps & no one says anything.
personally, i like unsweetened almond milk.
i was using the cheese-calcium excuse too but last week i had a doctor tell me that dairy products arent enough b’c you’d have to eat pounds of cheese or tubs of yogurt to get enough. she said you need 3 cups of leafy greens/day to get as much as you need, and who does that? i prefer my nutrients from food, not supplements, and i too refuse to drink milk - so whats a girl to do? osteo runs in the fam!

You just reminded me of a study I read this weekend based on testosterone levels having dropped some 13% (?) in young males since 1986 (the levels of hormones “normal/average” at that time). I need to find that link again… darn it. Hope it’s saved in my Reader. Call it the causation of the Metrosexual, hmmm.
I printed out a recipe for make-at-home almond milk, and I keep meaning to do it… *sigh* procrastination.
I have osteo running in my family, but my doc says I’m still good with eating a combo of yogurt, cottage cheese and greens every day. I don’t take pill forms of anything, so I’m against supplements. A diet just needs to be well-rounded, in moderation… and not from the drive-thru! lol

PETA has reduced itself to being little more than the wackjob on the streetcorner, sprouting nonsensical garbage so they can get your attention for 2 seconds to ask you for some change.

like Adam Lambert they appear to more and more be happy with just sheer shock value.
