For whatever reason when I’m upset, I start cleaning out my closets. I “went there” again today… before it was even 8 a.m. (couldn’t sleep).
While pulling out all the shoes from the floor of my coat closet, I found a piece of paper. I almost threw it out, but I turned it over. It was a clipped quote from a magazine that read: Just one moment can change everything.
I’ve had too many of those “moments” lately. And I’m beginning to really resent “change.”
P.S. My “ex” box is in the middle of the living room floor. I didn’t open it, but I kind of want to set it on fire.

you really need to take a trip to San Diego to go here…

I’d love to go there, I wish we had a place like this in Cleveland.

I’d say set that box on fire.
[but, be safe about it]
Then proceed to go on a peaceful bike ride

jose, that is AWESOME! Just so happens I may have a trip planned in October to San Diego!
I will pick her brain and maybe bring back ideas to start a shop here in Cleveland! That would be way cool.
Kelly, haven’t quite figured out the burning logistics yet. Might have to borrow a friend’s fire pit. Bike ride sounds nice, but I think I’ll go yell with some buckeyes fans.

With a name like Smash Shack, it has to be good!

Hang in there.
The good thing about being at a low point in life is knowing that all of the good is just around the corner.

Totally burn it. I had a buddy in grad school who had this very rigorous process he adhered to religiously every time something didn’t work out, and “burning all the relevant shit” was rule #1. Seemed a little dramatic to me, but he was remarkably well-adjusted and bounced back really quickly. My conclusion: the burning works. But, yeah, what Kelly said about safety… follow that.

Don’t set your XBOX on fire! Sell it. What? An “ex” box? Never mind.

I’d say be a little less dramatic and just throw it out, then move on. It’s not worth obsessing over.

If you REALLY feel like cleaning…you could come to Chicago and unpack for me.
Just sayin’.
