I’m loving it. And by “it,” I mean “getting older.”

Posted by Mel on May 8th, 2009. Filed under: Say hello to my Little Friends, This only happens to me!, Travel, much?.

Ah, yes, tomorrow is my big day… again. And it will certainly be more fulfilling than free Red Robin burgers and the movies. But I’ll be sure to take advantage of the free burger some time next week!

Somewhere in Vegas, when I realized how different a trip it is while in your 30s, I probably swore up-and-down that I would *not* drink again. Ooh, the vacation hangovers are the WORST. It never helps having housekeeping knocking on EVERY SINGLE door on the floor at EIGHT-FREAKING-THIRTY in the morning! Especially when arriving back to your room at 5:30 am.  (Fucking TI can bite my balls next time I schedule Vegas plans). Regardless, it was a good early birthday present… to myself.

I had a fun week with my good friend alcohol (and the bf) anyway finishing a bottle of Santa Rita 120 Chilean Cabernet, learning to brew my own beer at the Brew Kettle (cannot wait for bottling in a couple weeks) and a tall beer-and-Cavs-game last night at Rocky’s River Pour House (this place needs to get its shit together).

I’m really looking forward to my weekend full of good people, good food and good plans (and maybe a good bike ride). Good sex, if I’m also good?

I’ve posted something at my second home, Addicted To Vinyl, about random birthday musical memories.

So,  I don’t have anything philosophical to add about turning 32 — I’m really happy right now, I don’t feel “older” turning 32 (I think it has a better ring to it than 31) and I’m super excited for my party Saturday night compliments of The Bastard (oh, I mean that in the most endearing way possible). *wink* Oh yes! My birthday is on a Saturday… awesome.

Not awesome? Seeing a framed photo last night from my 21st birthday. ELEVEN years ago, people. I am putting that frame in storage next week. It’s too weird to think about time (and birthdays) passing that fast.

Happy Birthday to Me! I passed my e-check.

Happy birthday to you! Being 21 is so overrated anyway. I’d much rather be 32 and happy.

    hey a couple things—

i hope your birthday (good food/friends/plans/bike ride/ and sex– hopefully not all at once) all went well. i just bought a bike for the primary use of exploring downtown on summer weekends. i heard it’s dead. kind of really excited.

also- the swarovski necklace. i took it up their location at beachwood mall. i held the 3 pieces in my hand (both pieces of chain and the heart), and the lady calmly picked them up, muttered a concerned “oh dear” and then handed me a brand spankin new necklace. she then smiled and gave me a “have a nice day” as if she had just saved the world from disaster. she made my weekend. so if any of your non-discontinued articles need to be fixed, you could probably save on postage and just head over to the mall.
