You get older, the hangovers get worse… or last longer, kinda like that Indians game Saturday night. Seriously, did Superband ever play at Corner Alley? Go Tribe!
So without further ado and ex-boyfriend’s girlfriends stalking you on myspace, to the details of the Bachelorette Par-tay in the ever-popular East 4th Distict! Corner Alley, albeit expensive, is an AWESOME night out — especially for a group (Lanes are $35/hour on Saturday nights — shoe rental, although sizes are scarce — is NOT required). The food was fantastic (hello, multiple-cheese macaroni!! My mom had the slider sampler which also looked equally as tasty). The drinks were alcohol-y — and a perfect-sized specialty martini list. The “Blue Balls” was, of course, the hit for the bachelorette, as was her back-printed “I love penis” sash every time she threw the bowling ball. Every service person in which we came into contact with was beyond friendly and nice and accommodating. Again, my only complaint being that reservations were non-existent for our size party (which I thought was large) on a Saturday night. My advice: be there early! Our arrival time was 7 (with most of the crowd getting there around
and we had two lanes together in a decent amount of time, with no waiting. The place did fill up quickly though and when your time is up on the lane, your time is UP!
Filing behind nicely in the customer service department was the staff at Pickwick & Frolic — more specifically Kevin’s Martini Bar for the Midnight Martini Show. Nobody knew I had this planned, and it was a definite hit with my sister and her friends! Because of our early arrival (again), we had a perfect seat location next to the stage. And I really hope that flashback I have of dancing on stage with the lounge singers was a nightmare I had while passed out at the Radisson. The real question here is: What happened to Sammy?
If you have a lingering doubt as to where the “hot” people are out hitting the town, it’s at View Nightclub and Ultralounge. First off, love the bar in summertime for its roof-top deck and always-awesome dance music. The crowd was beautiful, laid-back…. and holy crap, people were dancing! The only thing that prevents me from attending more often is the cover charge (I HATE cover charges!!), but understandably keeps a better-suited crowd for the club. Best place to dance in Cleveland? It’s definitely on top of my list. Do they still require ages 25 and older? I didn’t pay too much attention by the time it was so late on a Saturday. And there’s another new club photog on the loose, “Place 2B Seen” capturing all Cleveland’s elite… and mildly intoxicated.
There were a few stops in-between stops at Flannery’s Pub for the Irish blessing (nobody wanted the irish shot though). I was half-tempted to smoke… walked outside to the patio — but I survived my first flirtation with smoking, while quitting smoking, and I passed the test! I’m on a full week with no smoking. But please tell me why I woke up and it still FELT as if I smoked two packs?!
Promptly after slinking into my Sleep Number Bed at the Radisson, I was out. But for good measure, there was a bottle of Sam Adams cherry wheat on the nightstand. For what? If I got THIRSTY in the middle of the night? Awesome.
