This Saturday was the ribbon cutting ceremony and opening of the new gallery in downtown’s Toonseum.
Special guest and legend and Pittsburgher — and namesake of the new gallery — Lou Scheimer was in attendance.
So was She-ra, naturally (and totally random that I met the woman-behind-the-sword the night before at our local bar).
Bill Peduto also acknowledged, with proclamation, November 12th as Lou Scheimer Day in the City of Pittsburgh.
And so it is written…
The ToonSeum is truly a really special place. And I hope that Pittsburghers acknowledge that with their support. You need to see the current exhibits: Overture — Looney Tunes Behind the Scenes — running through December 31; and there’s a fun Keith Haring display you need to see in all its colorful glory (in person) too.
Also, if you’re into “geeky” television programming, check out Geek TV Night (this Thursday night):
I WANT YOU TO VISIT! Comment on this post for a chance for you and a couple members of your family or friends to check out the new gallery AND freshly-rotated exhibits. If your comment is selected (chosen at random), four admission passes to the ToonSeum will be yours, courtesy of me. Sorry (and sadly), I cannot pay for your travel expenses.
I’ll pick one winner at the end of the month: Wednesday, November 30.
