Esteban Touch

His name is Esteban. I’m not kidding you, the day I finally plugged it into my computer and messing around with all the downloads, etc, I heard the name Esteban THREE separate times. Now, with such a huge farm system of ball players in Dominican Republic and spanish-sounding otherwise, I am sure there is an “Esteban” playing a little long ball somewhere. The deal was clinched when I bought lunch at Dave’s and the cashier’s name was… yes, “Estabon” — an awkward spelling, but a sign, nonetheless.

So, Esteban, being the finicky little 8GB newborn he is, has already had his first hiccup, if you will. I have been playing email tag-you’re-it with iTunes and Apple support since Monday about a software download that, well, didn’t download. I refuse to pay $20 for something that is not going to work, but dammit I want maps, mail and weather on my Esteban (he’s feeling out-of-touch and lost today). Day four and still no January Software Upgrade.

By the way, I went up to Starbucks (blech) last night to play around with the wi-fi portion of the iPod. Can you believe that those assholes charge $9.99 for a one-day pass for internet access?! As if it’s not bad enough that two hot chocolates and a cookie cost you eight bucks. Sheesh. Needless to say, Sia has a new album out.

Watching: “Beyond the Gate,” “Zoolander,” “I am David,” and tonight is “He Was a Quiet Man.”

Esteban is playing: Podcasts. PODCASTS, people! Free stuff to listen to on the commute to/from work! Can’t stop the awesome rhythmic stylings in my head from Of Montreal. And I finally have all my Bob Seger in one place.
