East side vs. West side

While you were being bitten by a cat named Curtis, I was enjoying what’s left of this sad, sad summer. Nowhere to really go Friday night, other than stay in and enjoy my Netflix selection o’ the week (“Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou” — yes, only the 18th time I’ve seen it), seeing as how I was still too exhausted by my HOB antics of Thursday night… and I had to work Saturday morning.

After work, I enjoyed a nice late breakfast at First Watch in Crocker Park and walked off my egg whites wrap. And THEN, it was off to see a Captains baseball night game with the fam. Thankyouverymuch for the bread giveaway. Yes, I said BREAD. I received a loaf of bread for attending a minor-league baseball game. What. is. that? There was also a Skipper soap dispenser prize for entering. I believe I left that in the picnic area. I had an over-abundance of plans and people to see, so I had to leave mid-seventh (and thankfully so, as after my departure, a foul ball hit a tooth out of the spaz  to my right in the front row. Crap! That would have been a definite date night disaster!).

I hadn’t been to The Feast in what seems like ages (OK, perhaps it was two years ago) and this year, as result of this lovely late summer rain storms, it didn’t happen. Who needs to drive around for a half hour to find parking ANYWAY? We settled in nicely at the outdoor  umbrella-d patio of Panini’s in Coventry. After sharing some overly-dramatic stories, we got our dance on over at b-sides (also in Coventry, for those none-the-wiser) and I tapped in to my inner-wigga stages of my early teens. East coast vs. West coast DJ battle — and holy crap, I realize it wasn’t Karaoke night and all, but the Tanqueray made me do it.

So, where does Curtis the cat come in? We were offered a game of pool in Cleve Heights somewhere after the last slurp of alcohol went down. Therein lied the friskiness and loneliness of the furry feline. No matter the warnings that Curtis was going to bite me, I petted and gloated that he REALLY liked me! Only then, did I turn to boast and that  damn cat chomped my forearm. Bastard.

There was also another family day to celebrate the “Bon Voyage” of my sister heading to hurricane land for the school year at Bravo! (Thanks to Tim the Waiter for playing along famously). My food, usually QUITE good at Bravo! was quite crappy today. The herb linguini was still fabulous, as was my chopped salad, but the eggplant was entirely too crisp and blackened for my taste. Oh, and all hail that my OTHER sis had her wedding cake testing and I ended up with some samples. Yum for the non-diet!
