Changing gears and eating cheese

logo

Wow, I was a wench yesterday.

Almost immediately upon publishing that post, Matt from Addicted to Vinyl TOTALLY hooked me (and Esteban) up with all the Journey mp3s. He totally rocks and played a HUGE part in changing my mood yesterday.

Moving on…

Last night, Mel was at MELT! I was catching up with an old pal. From something straight out of those stupid girlie dramas, the waitress was blatantly hitting on my “date.” Seriously, at one point she even said he smelled nice. Another time, she went straight for him and asked how he was doing (ignore me, much). Of course, I blurted out, “I’m fine, thank you.” I’m sure she tortured me on purpose by selecting all the hottest freakin’ jalapeños in the world for my sandwich. C’mon, I cried on my FIRST bite. Completely unneccessary. Regardless though, she was super sweet and cute. She obviously does not eat the grilled cheese though.

Of course, I had to select a new piece of cheesy goodness to try — this time, the Municipal Stadium Magic. Heaven, as per usual. ESPECIALLY with the few drafts of Bell’s Oberon I selected. Ooooh, the bratwurst was fantastic! Their renovation is also complete, which makes the restaurant LOOK larger (which is nice while you’re waiting 45 minutes on a Wednesday), but there still seems to be the same amount of tables. Those kitchen peeps need a gold star for pumping out some serious grilled cheese, seriously.

Tomorrow (Christmas in July), they’re tapping two kegs of Christmas Ale along with a visit from Santa Claus. I guess Katie’s cookies will make an appearance as well… I hear they’re tasty. Oh, and get thee drinking arse there early, pours start at 11 a.m.

Boy, people will come up with ANY excuse to go out drinking these days, eh? Christmas in July? Once a year is enough for me, thanks.

You mentioned yesterday that you love Mexican food. Have you been to Zocalo on E. 4th yet? We’ve had their window take-out and it was really good. We’re going there this weekend to have a sit down dinner and apparently “The Next Iron Chef” contestant and accomplished chef Aaron Sanchez has created some menu items for them, so we’re excited to check that out.

I had that Municipal sandwich about a week ago as well!

Totally awesome….I make a point to try something new everytime I go there…..I have a weakness for the one with crab cakes…

    The expanded location is great…

PS – Tara – good to hear that Zocalo is good – read good things about it, and I’ve been wanting to go there!

A life without Journey is a life not worth living, so you were totally justified.

My Ipod doesn’t have a name, but if it did, it would likely be subtitled “probably coulda paid off a house with all of the music that is on here.”

    :-)

Screw ipods! I love my Zune! I listen to the radio on it most of the time. :-)

Geesh, Matt. I only have an 8GB iPod. I never thought I could fill it either.

You, sir, need to start calling it “Music Mortgage.”

80 gig over here….and I’d like to move up to the 160GB…

I’m actually in the process of starting to sell off my actual CD collection….except for the stuff I REALLY care about….and I think that my Journey CDs might be on the “keep” list…

I’ll digitize all of it before it leaves the house, and make a safety backup of the backup.

Hoping to capitalize on the value of my collection before CDs slip to the value of 8-tracks :-)

Since I have a ridiculous number of CDs, it will take quite a while…but hey, it will keep me busy and out of trouble!
