The heading of this post reminds me of that early-90s group called Another Bad Creation* (A.B.C.) – it is to my belief that they have performed that “At the Playground” (huh, ya-know!) song back in my day.
On that note, Tuesday, I did a double-date (mine being blind and not in the “visually-challenged” way). My friends set me up with someone the male-half-of-the-relationship went to college with in Boston. Being that he (just for f-sake, let’s call him “Wassup”) lives in Chicago, I continue to maintain my streak of meeting/dating guys not in Cleveland. Started off a fantastic dinner at Johnny’s Downtown (I had the long-bone veal chop)The four of us shared (two) 2002 Merlot Wine (name evades me – but it was nice-and-dry) and some veal-stuffed poblanos (uh, heaven! Still cannot figure out why his was 8,000 degrees hotter!). There were a few desserts tossed to the table, by choice (mine: carrot cake and a B&B) and a nice ice wine. Followed by, I don’t know, 82 Orange Crush shots at Mercury Lounge(kidding). Still 80′s night at its best. Maybe that’s why I can’t get the old-school rapping out of my head… Can you believe he had JJFad “Supersonic?” Me either. The “S” is for super, and the “U” is for unique, the “P” is for perfection and you know that we are freaks… Uh, never mind me. All-in-all, a great date night. Plans for seconds are in motion. Wassup seems to be intelligent, well-traveled – being that he’s lived all over the world – one of those “you-can-dress-me-up-or-down” types — Good thing, because eatin’ all that fancy food would make me crave my buffalo wings and draft beers too much. Similar to me, just looking to enjoy the most out of life and have a good time. I need a copy of his mother’s cookbook…
BTW, Good to see you again, Teddy!
And in other dating news, the cop stopped into my work today. Unfortunately I was with a client and unable to entertain him during my lunch hour. Love the look when the women in my office see the cop car pull up… ooh, man in uniform. Hot!
* Note: The ABC reference has no comparison whatsoever to the date being “another bad creation.” It was quite fun actually.
