A weekend wrap-up when the weekend is about to hit once again!

Whew. Where does the week go? Obviously, I’ve been distracting myself with questions asked by YOU (my lovely readers) — and it’s been great fun. So, go ahead, ask some more. I actually like connecting with you this way.

By the by, last week my females-be-jealous and I took on Rocky River for a bunch of male hating shenanigans. After pre-partying at my pad (Awww, I really liked having people over. I need to do this more — and baby-proof my condo!), we head over the World Famous Swinging Door. OK, maybe not quite so famous, but I freaking love this dive bar. After slight buzz, we went to see “He’s Just Not That Into You.” I’ll admit, I laughed for majority of the movie. It was cute — in a total, non-thought-process-movie-going sort of way. But the ending made me want to jump off the Hollywood sign.

…and surprisingly, Ben Affleck was there to catch me. Huh.

Anyway, after the movie, we hit up the Rocky’s River Pour House which quite possibly could be the lamest bar ever to exist on the West Side. One drink later, we went to the new BW3’s in Westgate. Again, nobody was out here either. Regardless, we closed down the bar, I met a Murse (ha! I had no idea what that meant until last weekend) — and that Murse’s friend bet him he wouldn’t be able to get my hat off my head. Which meant Murse won his bet with his friend, who then gave me money to pay my tab. Sweetness, right? S & I came back to my place to play Rummy to all-hells-hours. Geesh, who won?

Saturday, I skipped out on the grocery shopping to go rock climbing at the Cleveland Rock Gym (in Euclid) for my initial visit. I had SO much fun! I was a little nervous at first, but I still made it to the top on my first climb. Second, I got stuck near the top. Then it was impossibly difficult to play Spiderman sideways to climb another wall that was way out of my skill level — but still, such a great mind and body workout! I made sure for my last wall that it was something difficult enough, yet satisfying for my ego (that is, to hit the top, albeit an an increased angle to completely feel like my arms were tearing away from their sockets). And for two days, I was sore. I hope to make it back a couple times a month, then get belayed certified. I have found yet another new, fun activity!

After doing some yoga to release the muscles in my new Tyrannosaurus arms (and a nap), I met friends out at Merry Arts in Lakewood. Then went to see a random classic rock band at Smedley’s… and again, back to close up Merry Arts. Hilariously, I played piano that night waiting for my friend and her husband to make fried breakfast sandwiches. The husband recorded it — cannot wait to see my classical re-enactment.

Meanwhile, back at the ranch where we celebrate (suffer through?) the lovely Valentine’s Day once a year, I have yet another fun weekend scheduled to preoccupy myself away from horrible, rolling-my-eye-variety bullshit. I suppose it’s not all bad, I still drew a heart over the 14th on work desk calendar when I became epileptic with my red pen. I have dinner reservations. Ahem, and a date. Kinda. And a whole bunch of other people to party with. So, Val Day? Not wasting much time angst-ing about it. My only intention is to enjoy a full calendar of fun things to do in Cleveland with the people whom I love.

Ahhhh, this could actually be really, really interesting…
