2009 blog wrap-up because everyone in the Blogsphere is doing it!

Wow. 2009. No question, I think this was one of the happiest years of my existence. True story. Although, you would never have guessed with how 2009 STARTED…

January started out a little… weird. I mean, it started out on vacation in Scottsdale, soaking in sunshine and a Buckeyes loss at the Tostidos Bowl. Yuck. But, weird. yeah. I made some lame resolutions, mostly in reference to HG Dick Face. I rode my first bull. I recapped 2008 (which was equally dickish, reading that post!). I gushed over Dick Face, made suggestions for good dates. And then Dick Face dumped me, of course. Or I got benched. Whatever.

February, I suggested how to (graciously) accept a drink for Cleveland Magazine, then mapped out what to do when suddenly single. Cleveland’s a Plum asked me some questions. Somebody named “Paul” asked me five more. Then, Dan was up. Blogging Jason made Five Questions even MORE interesting. Five more from a (ahem) stalker. Then a good friend (who knows a little more about me) delved deep with her five questions about relationship “standards” and Burger King bathrooms. I made a last attempt at reconciling with SSD for Valentine’s Day. Only to discover I really didn’t like him all that much. (But didn’t tell my Readers, fearing endless backlash, I presume). It only took me three years to get over him. So, remember to love your girlfriends always.

March, I got FUCKING STOOD UP! after two great dates. I went to Chicago for St. Patrick’s Day (and made out with a couple four people). Then St. Patrick’s Day hit for REAL (in Cleveland), and I met up with AB. So, yeah, I kinda got a boyfriend. AND I DIDN’T WRITE ABOUT IT! And we have the BEST Anniversary. You know, for two drunken Irish people.

April. I still have a “boyfriend.” It’s kind of amazing. OK, really amazing. So much so, that I STILL DON’T WRITE ABOUT IT. Thankfully, he’s around because my own family “forgot” to call and invite me to Easter. It was a fairly crushing moment of 2009. I urged you all to HAVE MORE SEX! You know, for burning calories and stuff.

May, I turned 32. I’m still hot, and I have a hotter boyfriend. Still. I spent the first weekend whooping it up in Vegas for a long weekend, early birthday trip with the ladies (but didn’t write about it until June). AB was the best host for my birthday party at (then) his apartment downtown. All my best girlfriends and guy friends showed — and we had a blast! Then, I received the most ultimate of raunchy lap dances at Christies. Hell-O, Birthday! AB took me camping in PA for my birthday a couple weekends later, and we visited Fallingwater. We listened to a couple break up in the campsite next to ours. It rained. It was an awesome weekender. And this post pretty much summed it all up.

June, I received a freaking speeding ticket. Dammit! We enjoyed everything from tots to tits. And we visited friends in Indiana. Road trip!

July was the opening of Bar Symon (and almost-run-in with douchebag). I traveled to West Virginia again for my annual White Water Rafting adventure. The burgers there were not quite the same. Unexpected things happened at the townie bar in West Virginia. Good, scary things that would eventually make me very happy. Naked girl was just a bonus. Past guy who I didn’t have sex with creeped out from the gutters for no good reason. Save for lying to his girlfriend. Christmas in July at Chippewa Lake.

August, KRUSTY’S! I spoke of a few things — of drunks and loyalty and RTA buses — and like how living downtown would make me tailgate more. Um, it did not. And, then I moved my things into AB’s apartment. I am now OFFICIALLY a downtown Cleveland resident. *swoon* Our friends visited from Indiana for a big dinner at The Greenhouse Tavern. Yum!

September, I held a contest for the best Cleveland Elevator Pitch. Graciously, Cleveland+ (Positively Cleveland) voted for my winner! I finally stuck to a running routine and lost my weight for future vacation. WHICH I KEPT OFF! I featured singles for National Singles Week. Each was a great sports.

October, the cougars invaded. *groan* Cleveland Beer Week was the BEST week ever! And if you were wondering, I’m still in love… I know, I know. *puke* We had awesome Halloween costumes though. I gave out some Cleveland gold stars. And subsequently kicked a few of you in the ass.

I posted EVERY SINGLE DAY in November. (Pssst… there were lesbians!)

December showed an extraordinary outpouring of support from local Cleveland bloggers. I received some super sweet Christmas gifts (which I still need to write about), and wrote a gift guide to your lady friend. AB proved that men are near impossible to shop for — unless it involves something electronic-based.

AB & I finished off the year new with good friends in South Bend and rang in the New Year… with ABSINTHE. Na zdraví!

A year doesn’t seem so long when you write it out like that…
